Mohammed, 21, Kuwait. I play videogames regularly, I watch movies casually and I drink coffee constantly. To extend upon this, my favorite game of all time is Super Metroid, my favorite movie is 2001: A Space Odyssey (directed by Stanley Kubrick) and my favorite type of coffee is Nescafe. When I'm bored of life and games I'm usually reading in my bed, sipping through my own cup of misery. I work in a very dull environment surrounded by some very dangerous equipments that could blow the country to pieces. I dream of creating an 8-bit game with some interesting gameplay mechanics in which I already planned. But that's not gonna happen. That's why it's called a dream.

Hello, World!

“Hello, World!” is the first post you see when you set up a new blog at Wordpress. What does this relate to my post? well, nothing. I just don’t know how to start a discussion, or a talk, or anything involving “leading the war”. Leading the war means leading the post in here…. whatever.

So, it’s been a long time since I wrote anything in here. Is it because I’m depressed? Eh, no. Do you call someone who watches 2 movies a day while finishing Mega Man 9 a depressed guy? Yes? Well I’m depressed and I’m liking it! More seriously though, I just don’t have the time to write. I have the time, but it’s flooded with oh-so-many things: my job is draining a big deal of my energy, and since I’m a weak guy physically, I really feel awful just by sitting and doing nothing at all. So when I get home, I either sleep till the next day (yeah, I’m serious), watch a random batch of awesome movies, or finish Mega Man 9. I feel like I’m contributing nothing to the society, but I’m liking it, because I don’t really care what my contribution should be as long as I’m enjoying my time. Don’t you agree?

I’m gonna tell you all a secret. Everyone who says that having a job sucks is a goddamn liar. You see, I’m currently not enjoying my job as much as I thought I would, but even with that, it’s much better than studying. You literally can not imagine the feeling when you get home and realise that you are free till the next morning. You wanna play a game? Maybe watch some TV shows? Or just slacking off? It’s your choice. No exams to worry about, no professors to please, and no reports\projects to work your lousy butt over. None. You are the master of yourself.

Sure, some may argue that having a job as a Gas Operator (or anything related to the oil industry) isn’t the cutest thing around, and I may agree, but… that’s fine with me. Currently I’m just a trainee, and I’m getting paid well over 2000 bucks a month, so don’t you think that it’s worth the trouble? Yeah, it’s not always about the money, but it still plays a major part in deciding which job you wanna apply to. And it’s not like I have so many choices to choose from; I have an Oil & Gas Diploma, so if I’m not working as a Gas Operator, I would be a Well-service Man, and that’s about all.

Even though I’m still not all that hot about games, I’m still playing Mega Man 9. I really wish everyone could play it. Back in the days, when I don’t feel like playing anything, I always fire up Super Metroid or StarCraft to mess with. Sometimes grinding in Final Fantasy Tactics. But now, it’s nothing but Mega Man 9. I’m feeling down? I play Tornado Man’s Stage. I’m angry? I unleash that anger towards Dr. Wily Stages. I wanna kick some butt? I go for a buster-only playthrough. It’s just beautiful. Other than that, I’m playing The Witcher and due to the misfortunate event of the deletion of my savefile, I’m at Chapter 3 now (where I was at the final chapter :( ). It’s a goddamn amazing RPG. The plot is very good, the characters are great, and the gameplay -which matters the most- is fantastic. Since all my blog’s readers aren’t fond with PC games I’m gonna stop at this point and say one last thing: get the console version this fall, you owe it to yourself.

Aside from games, I’m spending a huge amount of time watching movies. Woosh, you can not imagine. In the last week alone I watched the following: Frost/Nixon, Revolutionary Road, Slumdog Millionaire, The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons, The Wrestler, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Gran Torino and Changeling. It’s somewhat crazy, but it’s really something unmatched, to watch all these ‘A+’ films in a short amount of time. Now you’re probably wondering what’s next on my list, right? huh! I’m gonna rewatch 2001: A Space Odyssey. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t watch my favorite movies dozens of time like their counterparts in videogames. The reason of this particular rewatch session is because I’m preparing myself for the upcoming ‘best movies session ever”. I ordered Eyes Wide Shut, Dr. Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket and A Clockwork Orange, all in Blu-ray, and I can not wait enough to watch them in this visually glorious format. So, to prepare myself for this Kubrickness tour, I’ll be replaying ASO twice at least to grasp more of what Kubrick had done in the film, and then compare this analysis with his other films which I’m sure that they’re as good as ASO, which, unless you’re blind and didn’t read the banner, my favorite movie of all time.

There’s still a lot I wanna talk about, but I’m leaving that for another post where I’ll be talking about my recently-purchased awesomesauce goodies. I mean, I’m not me if I’m not bragging about my goods, eh?

Thanks for reading.
